| SAFETY WARNING If a misfire or stoppage
occurs, immediately place the safety switch on safe, pull back charging
handle locking the bolt to rear. The failed cartridge should come
out when the bolt is placed in the rear position. To continue firing
push safety switch forward and pull the trigger again. |
| CHAMBERING The AA12 weapon fires from
the open bolt, which means that rounds are not chambered prior to
firing. Chambering a round fires the weapon. A round cannot be chambered
or fired with the safety switch placed on the safe position. If
a stoppage occurs or if a round misfires and is in the chamber with
the bolt closed, place the safety switch on and retract the charging
handle removing the round from the chamber. |
| FIRING With the weapon pointed down range
and properly held either at the shoulder with sights aligned or
held at the hip with your forearm parallel to the side of the butt
stock, pull the charging handle to the rear and push it forward.
This cocks the bolt for firing. Next, push the safety switch forward
with the thumb. When ready, pull and release trigger quickly for
single shots, pull and hold it to the rear for multiple shots. With
practice from one to three shot bursts may be fired. |
| AA12 FIRING PIN The AA12 Automatic
Shotgun has a positive displacement firing pin that is peculiar
to this weapon and no other. This design feature provides positive
firing with all lots of 12 gage ammunition, regardless of the manufacturer.
This unique design feature shields and prevents gas from escaping
to the rear through the bolt if primers are punctured. |
| Ejection Ejection is the expelling of
the fired cartridge case from the receiver of the weapon. Ejection
is accomplished when the cartridge case, as it is being pulled to
the rear and out of the chamber, strikes the ejector located in
the left side of the receiver. When contact is made the extractors
release the rim of the case and the case is expelled out to the
right through the ejection port opening. |
| BARREL CHAMBER EXTENSION The combination
of the firing pin design and the special barrel chamber extension
are safety features which protect the user and are not found in
shotguns originally designed for sporting use. |
| BOLT SIDE LATCH The bolt side latch is
a safety feature designed into the bolt/firing pin mechanism, which
prevents a situation where a round is in the chamber and the weapon
tries to load another round behind it. A side latch mechanism in
the bolt prevents the chambered round or the incoming round from
firing. |
